CA Trip Part 2

The boys' first trip to Disneyland! We hope to make it to FL sometime this year so Ross' mom can be with them for their first time at Disney World!

Keadon's first ride. The picture would have been cuter, but the car started moving!

CA Trip--Part 1

We went down to my parents' house for Thanksgiving, and then the kids and I stayed for about 2 1/2 more weeks while Ross finished up studying for finals and his GMAT. It was so much fun!

Before getting to my parents' house, we stopped at my aunt Kelly's so Logan and Abby (above) could play. They were really cute together!

After Ross had already gone home, we decorated gingerbread cookies for our weekly family night. Logan put on all the little candies by himself, which surprised me because I wasn't sure any would make it past his mouth!

We spent one evening out at my grandpa's. We had a hot dog roast, and Logan was able to throw a couple logs on the fire.

Halloween Weekend

We decided to visit Ross' mission president (and his wife/kids) on Halloween, so we also ended up taking the kids trick-or-treating in the Castillo's neighborhood. We thought Logan would get tired quickly, but we were dead wrong. We had to call it quits after an hour because we were driving to my grandparents' house that night, but that little guy wasn't even close to being ready to stop!

Yes, we only took one picture. We're terrible parents, I know. :-)

Halloween Carnival

Who writes about Halloween in December? I do! With our 3 week trip to CA, moving, etc., this is the first chance I've had to sit down and update my blog. Okay, so let's see if I can remember any details...

Below are pictures of BYU's Halloween carnival. At first, Logan was really shy, but he quickly warmed up and ended up having a blast!

Fall Beauty

We decided to take a trip up the canyon yesterday afternoon and stopped at a small park not to far from the entrance. The colors of the leaves were so beautiful, and Logan had a lot of fun playing and exploring. Once again, I took way too many pictures, but oh well. :-)

Keadon just wouldn't give up that hand...even to show his cute smile!

So this was a cute picture--in theory. I guess the blanket just tastes too good!

Halloween Decorating...Sort of...

My mom sent a box of Halloween treats and decorations (thanks Mom!), and Logan was really excited to put up the gel decals. Logan ended up taking them off the window a few minutes after he put them up, as he decided it would be much more fun to play with them. :-) He also thought the vampire teeth were really cool!

Family Night

Monday afternoon/evening, we decided to take Logan to the Kangaroo Zoo for family night. We'd never been before, but from what we'd heard about the place, it sounded like something Logan would really enjoy. The place itself is really cool! It has several different inflatable slides and bouncers, and there is seating for those parents who don't want to follow their kids around. Logan LOVED the "zoo" and threw a huge fit when we left. :-)

Weekend Rejuvenation

This past weekend was General Conference for our church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints). It's held every April and October and is a time when the president of the Church, as well as other leaders, gather together to speak on whatever topic(s) they feel inspired to discuss. I'm still amazed at the fact our leaders provide their selfless service in the church for free. Many of the callings are so time consuming, and yet, they continue to magnify whatever position to which the Lord has called them.

Conference weekends are so wonderful! I love the peaceful spirit the speakers and music bring into my heart. I especially enjoyed the messages about being receptive to the Spirit (and making sure one is living worthily to receive such promptings), as well as those about showing more love to those around us. I think we all get caught up in the day-to-day activities of our lives at times and forget we are here, in part, to bless the lives of others.

I'm grateful to be a member of a church centered around Jesus Christ, and I know it is the duty of each one of us, regardless of our religion, to go out of our way to help those in need. I know the Savior lives, and I have a testimony of His presence in our lives. I know that through the Atonement, he has experienced all the heartache, physical/emotional pain, etc. we will go through in our lives, and I'm grateful to know I can turn to Him for comfort from one who really understands. I love my Father in Heaven, and I love my Savior, Jesus Christ. God has bestowed more amazing blessings upon me than I could have ever imagined, and I pray I continue to live a life worthy of those blessings.
